Alyssa has always had a passion for movement education. 
She was introduced to the Pilates method while studying Dance Performance & Choreography at the University of California, Irvine. As a professional dancer, Alyssa uses the Pilates method as a form of cross-training. She trained under Diane Diefenderfer at Studio Du Corps. Her 450hr teacher certification program was Ron Fletcher based and focused on the classic mat and reformer work of the founder, Joseph Pilates. She is certified to teach various pilates formats and on the following apparatus': mat, reformer, cadillac, barrel, EXO chair, tower, and pedi pole.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is a full-body movement practice that integrates the mind and body. It is a functional form of fitness.
I am certified to teach various pilates formats on the following apparatus': mat, reformer, cadillac, barrel, EXO chair, and springboard.

I want to try pilates but I don't know where to start. ​

If you are new to starting a pilates practice I suggest trying my weekly Zoom-ilates Community Class. If you'd like to start private lessons, I suggest booking a 30 minutes Intro Session.

I want to try pilates but I have an injury. How do I know if pilates is safe for me?

If you have any injuries I suggest consulting your health care provider and/or physical therapist. After you've been cleared,  I will be able to make an assessment and create modifications for your pilates practice.

Building a Home Studio

Working out at home has its perks! It allows us to create a space at home where we can build a consistent movement practice. For my ZOOM-ilates series I love to incorporate props to help us dive deeper in our practice.
